SUMMARY: This position keeps score of all recreational games such as basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, flag football.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and keeps score for the home and visiting teams for recreational sports.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The applicant must have knowledge of rules and regulations for recreational sports for which they score. The applicant must have training in all scorekeeping areas. Basic math skills are essential.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: The applicant must have the ability to develop and maintain good public relations with team members, parents, and other Parks & Recreation employees. The employee must be able to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to speak Spanish is beneficial.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to personally relate in a positive manner to adults, children, and young people.
- Ability to obtain good order during all games.
- Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations and scorekeeping guidelines for recreational sports such as basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, flag football.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ADA: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, may work outside in various weather conditions and in noisy conditions.
