Honoring DeLand Senior’s who
Make a Difference in our Community
What: |
Nominate an outstanding senior citizen to the DeLand City Commission during the beginning of each quarter of the year.
Examples of Recognition:
- Recognition of a Senior Citizen for service in the DeLand community.
- Recognition of a Senior Citizen for assistance to another citizen.
- Recognition of a Senior Citizen upon receipt of Award.
- Recognition of a Senior Citizen for receiving State or National recognition.
- Appointment or service on community, county, regional or statewide board with a public service mission.

Who: |
Candidates must be at least 55 years old. |
Recognition: |
The Mayor and Commission will recognize the recipient of this award with a certificate during a regular meeting of the City Commission each quarter. |
Why: |
To encourage seniors to make life better for others through volunteer work. |
