Senior Citizen Recognition Program

	Honoring DeLand Senior’s who Make a Difference in our Community What:    Nominate an outstanding senior citizen to the DeLand City Commission during the beginning of each quarter of the year. Examples of Recognition: Recognition of a Senior Citizen for service in the DeLand community. Recognition of a Senior Citizen for assistance to another citizen. Recognition of a Senior Citizen upon receipt of Award. Recognition of a Senior Citizen for receiving State or National recognition. Appointment or service on community, county, regional or statewide board with a public service mission. Who: Candidates must be at least 55 years old. Recognition: The Mayor and Commission will recognize the recipient of this award with a certificate during a regular meeting of the City Commission each quarter. Why:     To encourage seniors to make life better for others through volunteer work.
