Vehicle: white van
Subjects: Hispanic male- wearing white shirt, pink tie and black pants- 30-40 years of age.
Hispanic female- wearing gray work out shirt and pants- 30-40 years of age.
Information: The Community Services Unit received a complaint from a citizen regarding two subjects who came to her house soliciting for carpet cleaning. The subjects stated they were a new company and were offering a special on cleaning services. When they were asked for a valid city of DeLand solicitor’s permit, the subjects became very nervous and left the area in a white van. The subjects were asked for flyers they were holding and the citizen was refused.
DPD responded, but the subjects and vehicle were not located. We have received other reports of the same type complaint in the North-East areas of DeLand, between Minnesota Ave, North to Plymouth Ave.
Active Solicitors in DeLand must have a valid and up to date city of DeLand Solicitors permit. Many of these type of cold call solicitors can lead to diversion type thefts if allowed in your home.
